Why I Shot the Toaster This Morning

So I found this the other day:

“So my girlfriend asked why I carried a handgun in the kitchen.

I told her “In case of government spies.”

She laughed.

I laughed.

The toaster laughed.

I shot the toaster.

It was a good morning.”

I guess I can’t argue with that logic.

Although, it is nice to have your hunches turn out to be correct.

Unfortunately, this is how most people go about their advertising – according to a gut feel.

A random thought.

Some weird “Frankenstein-pieced-together-from-a-thousand-different-ideas” ad campaign.

And it works about as often as your toaster laughing back at your joke.

Don’t randomly throw money at advertising:

Here’s to being able to stand back and scream, “IT’S ALIVE!!!!” when your ad campaign actually works,
